Don't Quote Me

Using quotes can be very interesting to to students. Find a quote that is related to your topic in some way and introduce it with a quote. Have the students discuss the meaning and see if anyone can find another related quote.

I've used quotes as a journal prompt by having students make the three connections to it (text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world)

I think this is a great way to get students interested in a particular subject. There are so many qoutes out there that relate to my subject area that this would be a great way to introduce new material.
