Science Teachers....I need read-alouds!

I am searching for some read-alouds for anatomy and physiology for this new semester. Plus, if anyone has come across any great children's books about healthcare or healthcare professionals, please let me know. I am wanting to build a mini library and I could really use some suggestions. One idea I have is to use "case histories" to encourage the students to read in my health science classes. Any other ideas?

I would like to get some case studies about types of cancer and genetic diseases. Do you cover anything like in your classes? I did go to the American Cancer Society webpage and used some case studies last semester. The students really enjoyed the man from SC that spoke about having breast cancer. If you think we can work together, let me know. Thanks.

Sharie, I like the case studies idea. Anytime you move from theory to real life examples for students I think it really increases their interest. Here's something probably a little off the main subject, but what about periodicals with articles on the healthcare crisis in our country. As future healthcare workers, I would think this would be good background for them and to hopefully build an advocacy for seeing change in our healthcare system because I think reform may have to come from within and our students are going to be part of that...

Good idea. I need some read-alouds for A & P also. I do have a list of books that I got for the Education and Business Summit. I will copy and share with you.
